Starry Sweet 16

This cupcake order was for a Sweet 16 with a celebrity red carpet theme.  The colors were silver, black, and white and the whole place was decorated with stars, magazines, and of course a red carpet.  The cupcakes were silver, black, and white and the stars were impressed with the nickname of the birthday girl.
The extra large cupcake on top was just for the birthday girl!  All cupcakes were chocolate or butter pound.

Eclipse Cake

This cake was for a special little girl's Twilight party.  Although I had never seen Twilight, the napkin was given to us for inspiration.  The colors are burgundy and grey.  Fondant covered the top tier and half of the bottom tier with some black buttercream appearing underneath, to add to the color scheme and theme of Twilight.
Top is 6" and bottom is 8".

Casino Nights

This is one of the first cakes we made together.  It was a surprise cake for a 22nd birthday and was a delicious red velvet flavor with cream cheese filling.  The cake was frosted in buttercream.

The birthday girl was going to Atlantic City so the theme was easy.  We had poker chips, and all the elements of casino you could ask for.  What a great birthday surprise!

Castle fit for a Princess

This was another look alike cake request.  The cake was a four year old's birthday party with a Disney princess theme.  Although we didn't get pictures, the girl's mother had princess candles to place all over the castle.  This would be the perfect cake for your little princess, regardless of the theme.  Here is the back of the cake.

Cake was red velvet with cream cheese frosting, fondant, and plastic pillars covered in fondant, gumpaste number.  Everything is edible but the pillars!
This is the original picture sent.  If this is your picture please let us know here.

Whip Cream & Strawberries

Gluten free strawberry shortcake take two!  This was an order for a special birthday.  Turning 30 and keeping a strawberry shortcake tradition alive, without the gluten.  We tried a new recipe with this order and can now offer three gluten free flavor options: vanilla, chocolate, and almond.

Cake was gluten free almond with vanilla whip cream and strawberry filling, frosted with vanilla whip cream.  Try a strawberry whip cream cake today, with or without gluten.

Strawberry Short Cake

When Felicita's mom asked me to make this birthday cake for my long time friend, I was so excited to be making her cake.  The challenge is that it had to be gluten free.  While it look me a bit to get the recipe just right (2 cakes were involved) she loved the final product with strawberries and cream filling.
Cake is gluten free yellow cake with whipped cream and strawberry filling, buttercream frosting, chocolate hand dipped strawberries and chocolate letters.

Jonas Brothers Cake

Alexandra is my little sister, and in honor of her 12th birthday we threw a surprise party for her, and boy was she surprised.  Hiding a cake this size from your sister who's house you were using to bake and decorate this cake is no easy task.  Luckily, the surprise went on without a hitch and everyone was able to enjoy the Jonas Brothers in cake form.
Cake is marble with buttercream frosting and buttercream fondant.

Give a Gift!

This was my first cake with fondant.  It's what we learned to make in the second Wilton Cakes course.  If you'd like to learn how to decorate cakes, those courses are great for any beginner.  You will probably look at this cake or others and wonder how you'll do it, but it is easier than it looks.  Give the gift of cake and it will be a delicious memory.
This cake is chocolate with buttercream icing and buttercream fondant.

Sunflower Surprise

When I was told it was our neighbor's birthday, I knew I had to make her a cake.  But what to make?  I decided that everyone loves a sunflower and so this idea was born.  I photographed the process step by step, to show how the cake was filled with chocolate ganache.  The recipe was yellow cake with the ganache filling, buttercream frosting and the sunflowers have chocolate ganache centers.
Terry was surprised and that's a good thing!
